The Washburn Games is a sports sampler where children ages 4 – 12 can try nearly 20 different sports activities, including cricket, rugby, football, lacrosse, baseball, golf, soccer and many more.
The event raises funds and awareness for a critical community issue: children’s mental health. One out of five Minnesota children will experience mental health challenges, yet only 20% of these children will get the professional help they need.
The Washburn Games are designed to help families in the community realize a child’s mental health is as important as their physical health. This annual fun filled day also creates awareness about Washburn Center for Children—Minnesota’s leading resource for children experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, learning disorders or other mental health challenges.
