Wilson Fundations Level I Workshop

This Level I workshop provides the practice and guidance needed to effectively begin teaching the Fundations curriculum. Attendees will be able to identify the skills and components of effective reading and spelling instruction; recognize how Fundations materials facilitate multisensory, interactive learning; and determine the weekly schedule and prepare a lesson plan.
Wilson Fundations for K-3 is a phonological/phonemic awareness, phonics and spelling program for general or special education classrooms. Fundations is based on the WRS principles and serves as a prevention program to help reduce reading and spelling failure. Fundations lessons focus on carefully sequenced skills that include print knowledge, alphabet awareness, phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and spelling.
