On the heels of our most successful summer school program ever, Groves Academy is pleased to announce the dates of our Summer School Program for 2013:

  • Grades 2-8: June 17 through July 12, 2013
  • Grades 9-12: July 29 through August 9, 2013

Summer School at Groves Academy

Looking for great summer ideas for your children?  Groves Academy has dozens of academic programs and summer camp activities to choose from.  Whether you are looking for a reading, writing and math class to solidify and strengthen skills learned during the prior school year, or some fun and exciting activities to enjoy on summer afternoons, Groves Academy has what you need.  Please click here click here to see our 2013 Summer School brochure.

Academic Offerings for Grades 2-8

Groves Academy offers summer academic classes for students in grades 2-8.  Academic classes take place weekday mornings and consist of reading, spelling, writing and math sections. Each class has a maximum of six students, and students are grouped according to age and ability. Groves Academy teachers, who have an expertise in working with students with learning disabilities and attention disorders, teach all classes.

Throughout the four-week program, teachers will provide parents and guardians with weekly reports on their student's progress, areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. A final progress report will be mailed at the end of the program.

Classes meet Monday through Friday from 9:00AM until 12:00PM. Reading and spelling, writing and math classes are 55 minutes each, and students get a 15-minute recess. Classes are open to students entering the 2nd through 8th grades. Before school care is also available.

Summer Camp Activities for Grades 2-8

Groves Academy's Summer Afternoon Program offers an exciting variety of structured and fun activities. Students may register for one or several classes. The average class size is eight students. Afternoon classes are offered in two time slots: 12:30 to 1:30pm and 1:30 to 3:30pm.

Students who attend the morning program and continue in the afternoon program will have a lunch period built into their day from 12:00 to 12:30pm; students must bring their own lunch. Afternoon classes may be one, two or four weeks long. Please see class descriptions for details.

Summer Program students may also register for after-school care which includes a variety of supervised activities from 3:30 to 5:00pm daily.
