Dr. Russell Barkley to Address ADHD at Groves on Wednesday, November 14th
Groves Academy is pleased to welcome back Russell Barkley, Ph.D., a renowned authority on ADHD and ADD in children and adults, for a presentation on Wednesday, November 14th from 6:30PM-8:30PM. In his presentation, Dr. Barkley will explain the core difficulties children and teens with ADHD have in their executive functioning, which is the basis for self-control. He will also discuss the principles he has learned to be the most effective for managing a child with ADHD. This presentation is based on his more than 34 years of clinical work and research with children and adolescents with ADHD and provides 12 key ideas for successfully raising a child or teen with ADHD. This presentation is geared towards parents and educators of children with ADHD.
Russell A. Barkley, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized authority on ADHD and ADD in children and adults. He is currently Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He is a clinical scientist, educator, and practitioner who has published 19 books and more than 250 scientific papers and book chapters related to ADHD and its assessment and treatment. He has received numerous awards from professional associations for his research career in child development and psychopathology and his efforts to disseminate the science of ADHD to both professionals and the general public.
