Groves Academy is committed to making its education affordable to families from a wide range of economic means. Enrolling a bright, talented student body while maintaining very small class sizes, is critical to our success in serving the needs of students with learning disabilities and attention disorders.
Groves Academy does not believe that the cost of an education at Groves should be a deterrent to a prospective student. As such, Groves Academy raises more than $850,000 each year exclusively for scholarships to meet the needs of families who could not otherwise afford a Groves education.
Tuition Tuition for the 2013-14 school year is $23,100 for students in Lower School, $23,600 for students in Middle School and $24,000 for Upper School students. The tuition fee at Groves Academy includes tuition, books and testing. An additional technology fee is required. Optional expenses may include speech/language services, occupational therapy, lunch fees, school and class trips and events, yearbook, and after school activities. Once a student is accepted and decides to enroll, a reservation deposit of $1,000 is required with the enrollment contract (but may be refunded if adequate financial aid is not awarded). The balance of the tuition may be paid in either two or ten equal installments.
Financial aid at Groves Academy is offered through Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS). Financial aid awards at Groves Academy are based on demonstrated need — the calculated difference between the amount a family can be expected to contribute to the cost of the student's education and the cost of annual tuition, books and fees. After a student has been accepted to Groves, financial aid application information is sent to parents along with the enrollment contract. TADS processes each application, evaluates it for financial need, and makes a recommendation to Groves Academy based on the information provided.
Approximately 36% of Groves Academy families receive a partial scholarship each year. The scholarships were based on the assessment recommendation, financial need and available dollars in the Groves Scholarship Fund.
Tax Deductions or Credits
Tuition and other educational fees may qualify for deduction or credit on Federal or Minnesota income tax forms.
