ADD/ADHD Screening Package
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can impact a student’s ability to learn and oftentimes can delay the student’s educational progress. The ADD/ADHD Screening Package includes an evaluation of the student’s cognitive abilities (also known as IQ), and ADHD screening measures such as the Conners’ Rating Scales to help identify problems in behavior regulation, inattentiveness, hyperactivity and executive functioning. The package also includes the Conners’ Continuous Performance Test, a computerized screening which measures levels of attention and concentration.
After the testing is complete, the psychologist meets with the parents or guardians to review the findings, describe his or her overall impressions, and provide recommendations or appropriate next steps. Parents or guardians are also furnished with a comprehensive written report which provides additional details on the psychologist’s conclusions and specific recommendations for optimizing potential. Such steps could include a referral to a medical professional or other professional who specializes in managing ADHD.
An initial ADD/ADHD evaluation must rule out learning disabilities and is thus administered as part of a Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment. The fee for the Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment is $1,900. The fee may be lower, however, if the indivdual has a current (within the past three years) psychoeducational assessment and the Groves Academy psychologist is only conducting the ADD/ADHD screening.
