Orton-Gillingham or Wilson certification and/or experience are a plus.

Math Specialist
Groves Academy is Minnesota’s only established day school serving children and young adults with learning disabilities and attention disorders. We are conveniently located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Due to unprecedented growth, we are seeking a highly skilled, experienced Math Specialist. This is a full-time, year-round position offering a competitive salary and benefits, including a 401(k) with eligibility for an employer match.
The Math Education Specialist creates, develops, implements, and conducts professional development programs for Groves Faculty and students in collaboration with the Director of Education and Head of School, consistent with the mission and philosophy of Groves Academy.
On a daily basis, the Math Specialist will do the following:
- Creates and develops cohesive, adaptive Math education programs.
- Develops math curriculum for grades 1 through 12.
- Implements and conducts Math education programs for Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.
- Observes current Teachers and classes.
- Models lessons and works with Teachers to master new skills.
- Addresses the needs of students who may accelerate in Math.
- Plans and prepares learning activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
- Provides an environment and culture in the classroom that engages students and helps them learn more effectively.
- Establishes, develops, and maintains long-term interpersonal relationships with students, parents, faculty, and other Groves staff members.
- Tracks and monitors student progress.
Education, Experience and Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education or related field required. Master’s degree in Mathematics Education or related field preferred.
- Previous successful work experience leading professional development programs for teachers, preferably in a special education and/or private school setting.
- Three to five years’ related experience leading learning communities and leading educational specialist staff.
- Eight years’ minimum teaching experience, preferably in special education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to embrace the Mission of Groves Academy and work effectively and collaboratively with the Head of School and Leadership Group.
- Able to develop professional educational and development programs for teachers and students to meet learning objectives consistent with the mission and philosophy of Groves Academy.
- Able to treat each student with respect, fairness, flexibility, and in a professional manner.
- Able to create and execute strategic plans, set learning and development objectives, develop and manage educational evaluation processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, listening, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a diverse group/variety of people and personalities, including developing relationships with faculty, vendors, students, parents, alumni, volunteers, and staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, and other presentation systems.
- Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work unsupervised, make high level decisions, and solve problems effectively and creatively.
- Able to display high levels of customer service, work as a team with others, and respond promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
- Able to develop and give oral presentations to large and small groups of individuals inside and outside the organization. Able to use media resources to enhance educational presentations.

Employment Specialist

On a daily basis, the Employment Specialist:
- Develops, coordinates, and implements career assessment for GPS students.
- Assists students with job search. Teaches and mentors students in job seeking skills.
- Teaches and coaches students on interview skills, including conducting mock interviews, coaching on appropriate dress and appearance, and presentation.
- Works with students and families to navigate funding sources, community services, State and County programs, and related application processes.
- Develops and maintains long-term relationships with Groves donors and partner organizations to develop job opportunities for GPS students.
- Provides job coaching to students after placement into jobs, internships, and/or volunteer positions.
We are searching for applicants who have:
- 4-year degree in Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
- Successful previous experience working with job placement and individuals with disabilities required.
- Valid Driver’s license and automobile insurance.

PC Help Desk Technician

- Receive user inquiries from students, teachers and staff (users) regarding PC and other hardware issues.
- Confer with users and assists in development of new approaches or alternatives to ensure that user assistance is provided effectively and efficiently.
- Train users in Groves-provided applications and assists in problem-solving for application issues.
- Develop and write Technology Department technical documentation.

- Two year degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of certifications and work experience required.
- Three years’ minimum experience in computer customer service, troubleshooting, and repair, preferably in an academic environment.
