Workshop series:  ADHD

Holly Jones

Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, 7:00 – 9:00 PM

Part 1: AD/HD A Developmental Perspective

This workshop will focus on AD/HD in children, covering the latest research that defines AD/HD as a developmental delay of the brain’s inhibitory system resulting in issues with executive functioning. This explanation of AD/HD provides the foundation for the second evening, which will cover specific strategies that parents and teachers of elementary school students can put into practice.

Monday, November 10, 7:00 – 9:00 PM

Part 2: AD/HD – Strategies for Elementary School Students Based on a Developmental Perspective

The second part of the AD/HD series will explore the practical strategies that will help elementary school children increase their educational achievement and reach their potential. Because the strategies are based on the research addressed in Part 1, participants should plan to attend both sessions. Topics include time management, organization, motivation, working memory, reading comprehension, written expression, and active learning.

Open to the public at no charge. Please pre-register by calling 952-920-6377. Participants should register for the two-part series.
